우리 IT 산업의 중장기적 경쟁력을 유지, 발전시키고 우리나라의 IT 연구능력을 획기적으로 향상시키기 위하여 우리나라 IT 분야의 대표적 중장기 연구 기관인 KAIST 의 IT 분야 연구를 활성화하는 것이 전략적으로 매우 중요합니다.
 
 
KI-ITC를 통하여 우리나라가 기존 선진국들은 물론 대만, 중국, 인도 등 신흥 IT 경쟁국가와의 경쟁에서 우위에 설 수 있도록 연구내용, 추진체계 등을 구성하여 운영하고 있습니다.

IT Industry amounts to 30% of Korea’s exports and it contributes to the national trade balance and development. However, the competitiveness of IT technology and the leadership of IT industry face crisis because of other country's development.

It is important to revitalize the IT technology research to remain the mid-term/long-term competitiveness of IT industry and to improve IT research ability.
